Dr. Stacey Van Scoyoc Announces Candidacy for 8th District Trustee to the American Dental Association

Aug 27, 2025

Dr. Stacey Van Scoyoc is pleased to announce her candidacy for 8th District Trustee to the American Dental Association. From a young age, Dr. Van Scoyoc dreamed of becoming an astronaut—a doctor in space—envisioning a future defined by exploration, visionary thinking, and a commitment to health and wellbeing. Today, she brings that same spirit of curiosity and interconnectedness to her work in dentistry, always mindful of the global impact of the profession.

Dr. Van Scoyoc recognizes that the American Dental Association stands at a pivotal moment, with its business model and core identity undergoing significant change. She believes it is essential for the ADA’s purpose, mission, vision, and culture to remain aligned as the organization navigates pressing challenges in membership, finances, dental benefits, and healthcare policy. As an MBA candidate at the University of Illinois Gies College of Business, with focus areas in digital marketing and healthcare innovation, design, and entrepreneurship, Dr. Van Scoyoc is prepared to bring fresh perspective and strategic depth to boardroom deliberations.

A general dentist in private practice in Bloomington, Dr. Van Scoyoc has a long record of service in organized dentistry. She has represented Illinois at every level, serving as President of the McLean County Dental Society, Illinois State Dental Society Trustee, and Officer and President of the Illinois State Dental Society. Nationally, her four years on the ADA Council on Dental Practice—including service as Chair—and a decade on the delegation, including as Caucus Chair, have deepened her belief in the power of national collaboration among dentists.

Dr. Van Scoyoc is convinced that, by working together through organized dentistry, dentists can shape a future that both the profession and patients need. She looks forward to the opportunity to help guide the ADA through this period of transformation.
